This viral video shows a U.S. “Marine and solider” sticking up for their country. I say hurray for them and shame on the protesters. This video takes place in Albuquerque, N.M., it shows the  marine and solider taking a flag from two protesters. Apparently the video has sparked a heated First Amendment debate according to theblaze.

Basically, there are two protesters riding a scooter and are seen holding the America flag upside down. “Two men, one wearing a U.S. Marines T-shirt and another sporting an Army tee, sprint after the protesters and eventually [getting them to drop] the flag … and leave with it.”

Soldier running after Protesters

Marine Picking Flag Up

We don’t know if the marine and soldier have been identified or confirmed as active or former military. We also don’t know when the video was recorded, we do know it was published on Youtube on Mar 31, 2014.

One of the men shouts “We serve our fucking country, that’s bullshit!”.

I guess some have made the men heroes for demanding the U.S. flag be respected, other people have argued they are stepping on the protesters’ right to free speech.

The protesters were reportedly demonstrating over police fatally shooting a homeless man. The FBI is investigating the shooting.

Watch the video below and decide for yourself:

Disrepecting the flag is not a freedom of speech. If you have a problem with something, protest the issue. When you disrespect our Nations flag, you might as well spit on the grave of a veteran. Have you walked Arlington Cemetery, have you looked in a WWII vets eyes, Did you serve this country. But I bet you love the freedoms that Old Glory gives you, yet you disrespect her and all who died defending her.

I applaud these two men for standing up for what they believe. As oppose to the protester on the back of the scooter who chose the hide their identity (neither protester was wearing a helmet).

Typical thugs of the military. Someone should have run them over. They are supposed to be fighting to protect our freedoms not running people down to take them away. Whether you like what the protesters did or not makes no difference they had the right to do it until the jackboot thugs of the military did what they were trained to do and broke their oath to uphold and protect the constitution and stripped American citizens of the rights that Constitution gives us.

      Hey Dale,
As a former “typical thug” of the military and a firm believer in the Constitution and the freedom it bestows upon us as citizens of the U.S.A.
With that being said, go fuck yourself, you have no idea of what a “jackbooted” military is, nor what it is like to live under such a regime. But with more people who think like you, we all may soon learn what it is like.

§ 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
      (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
